Situated in an extremely contrasting environment, the project was bound by the rules of the surrounding architecture of the souk whilst also respecting the contemporary architecture that is juxtaposed nearby. Rinzu is a men’s fabric store the lends itself to this fitting juxtaposition. In an industry in which everything is mass-produced, the store maintains its commitment to the craft of tailoring and custom-fitting. Knowing that the projects exists within a multitude of oxymorons, the project had to embody one.
